Welcome to The Overage Undergrad

This blog is about my attempt to do better in this college experience than my previous one. Due to, ya know, actual studying, you should not expect polished or even reasonably readable posts.

Days X through Y where f(X)=X+5. Solve for X=4 and Y=f(X)

It’s been a while since I updated because, well, there wasn’t much to update.
Last Friday was absolutely fine. My Biology class so far has been basic chemistry so it’s pretty damn boring. I spent all last year learning basic chemistry. Organic Chemistry is moving along slowly which is just fine for me. I normally also have an Organic Chemistry lab session on Fridays but it was cancelled due to Irene as were all classes on Monday and Tuesday. I had a nice long weekend and I spent a good percentage of it studying and trying to learn as much Calculus as I can for Physics class.

If you are an avid reader here (and if you are, what’s wrong with you?) you may remember that I am actually taking a Calculus class right now. Since I have skipped ahead several chapters in the book, this makes Calculus an INCREDIBLY boring 100 minutes. We spent the entire session learning about types of functions yesterday. I’m sure for many people this is a brilliant use of their time. For me, I was questioning how I would survive long enough to get to the parts I haven’t already studied on my own. I never did come up with an answer.

The only significant thing that happened yesterday was that my “sir” count went up by 1. I’m sure the young lady was trying to be polite when she said “Sir, you dropped your pencil” as I stood up out of my desk. I said “Thank you” but what I wanted to say was “How old do you think I am bitch?”

So overall it has been a boring 6 days which is weird because all those TV shows and movies I watched made it look like a lot of fun. As it turns out, school sucks. It is MUCH better than dispatching trucks though, so I think I’ll stick with it. At this point I expect there to be more boring days than interesting ones so posts will be regular but less frequent. I expect twice a week will probably be enough. So for those who hang on every word (again what’s wrong with you?) you can expect to hang a couple of days.

P.S. There seems to be some question about conflicting comments about ECU’s bus service and I want to clear it up. They are absolutely efficient. They are also absolutely driven by 20-year-olds who talk to their friends while they drive. Lack of safety does not equate to inefficiency so both statements stand!
